II INTERNATIONAL ORCHESTRA COMPETITION
As part of the 1st Galicia Clarinet Fest Congress, the 1st International Orchestral Repertoire Competition will take place.
The aim of the competition is to open the doors of the orchestral world to the participants.
It is aimed at students who are studying or have studied higher studies and masters, and interpreters who can prove the necessary level.
Thanks to this competition, they will be able to choose, as a prize, to participate as active musicians during the concert season (2024/2025) in four large orchestras, two of them international:
- Symphony Orchestra of Galicia
- Royal Philharmonic of Galicia
- Guimarâes Orchestra
- Orchester National de Cannes

Registration for the contest implies acceptance of these rules.
The registration deadline will be July 5, 2024 and will be done by sending the form, which is at the bottom of this page, completely filled out.
Regarding the nationality of the candidates in the case of obtaining one of the prizes, there are three cases:
- Musician with Spanish nationality: no formalities are required.
- Musician with European nationality: a prerequisite is to apply for the residence certificate as a citizen of the European Union.
- Non-EU musician: must have a valid temporary residence and work permit in Spain.
In the event that a minor is awarded, he/she must have the authorization of the father, mother or guardian.
Registration will be free for active students of the Galicia Clarinet Fest 2024 and will cost €50 for other interested parties, which will be done through the following payment gateway.
Any incomplete registration or registration made after the date mentioned above will be considered null and void.

The jury of the II INTERNATIONAL ORCHESTRA COMPETITION is composed of 5 clarinetists of the highest level:
- President: Mr. Juan Ferrer Cerveró (Principal Clarinet of the OSG)
- Secretary: Mr. Vitor Matos (University of Minho)
- Vocals: Mr. Arno Piters (Royal Concertgebow), Mr. Tibor Reman (Staatcapelle Berlin), Mr. José Luis Estellés (Musikene), Mr. Emilio Alonso Espasandín (Orchester National de Cannes)
Phases and Orchestral Repertoire
The competition will consist of 3 phases, a first phase on Saturday 13 July in which the candidates will be pre-selected to participate in the semi-final and final phases which will take place on Sunday 14 July.
The excerpts indicated will be taken from the book Orchester Probespiel Test Pieces for Orchestral Auditions (Hepp/Rohde) for clarinet by Peters.
First Phase
Candidates must present themselves at the Multiuses Manuel Rivero de Lalín at 9:00 a.m. A draw will be held to determine the order of interpretation.

Candidates who pass the first stage will go to the semi-final where, apart from the solos of the previous stage, they will complete with:

The court will indicate which solos or which part of them should be performed at this stage.
The organization will provide selected pieces of works that are not found in the Orchester Probespiel Test Pieces for Orchestral Auditions (Hepp/Rohde) for clarinet by the Peters publisher.
They will be called at 9:00 a.m. at the same place, Multiuses Manuel Rivero, to draw the order of participation before the start of this phase.

Results and Awards
The results of the competition will be made public, that same day, at the 9:00 pm concert of the festival and through the digital channels of the Galicia Clarinet Fest .
