V Edition of the Galicia Clarinet Fest

Galicia Clarinet Fest it is a unique experience to enjoy the concerts and mastery of clarinet players from the national and international scene. From July 12 to 19, Lalín (Galicia) becomes the world epicenter of clarinet virtuosity, offering a first-class academic, informative and leisure space.

Historically, the Deza region stands out for being the heart of numerous music bands, conservatories, schools and musical groups. And in that community made up of teachers, students, fans and the public, the clarinet plays a prominent role.

In this context, the Galicia Clarinet Fest has a strategic approach that makes it unique: making visible a territory connected through music and consolidating it as a knowledge transmitting platform.

The festival, in its 5th edition, is a multicultural event that brings together 14 clarinetists and 4 pianists of international prestige who tour the world’s most important stages.

After the inaugural concert by the Royal Philharmonic of Galicia, students and the public will enjoy over 8 days the mastery of José F. Ballester, Arno Peters, Tibor Reman, Selin Gürol, Juan Ferrer, Michelle Anderson, Emilio Espasandín, David Griffits, Deborah Andrus , Lorenzo Coppola, José Luis Estellés, Vítor Matos, Cristina Esclápez, Joâo Pedro Santos, Alicia González, Isolda Crespi, Pablo Rodríguez and Xocas Meijide , artistic director of the festival.

Within the framework of the festival, the 1st Congress Galicia Clarinet Fest is held , from July 12 to 14, with a program full of activities in which musicians, teachers and clarinet lovers combine their passion for music with the pursuit of knowledge.

The Real Filharmonía de Galicia concert is the gateway to a weekend that includes concerts, piano recitals, inspiring conferences, the most innovative pedagogy, master classes or exhibitions of the best clarinet brands in the world.

Among the singularities of the Congress we point out the workshop that will be given by the Turkish clarinetist Selin Gürol, with more than 125,000 followers on social networks.
